Our barrel emptying systems consist of various individual components, which are available in standard configurations or as customized designs. The system’s design depends on the process or materials, and we can supply them in different sizes and versions as well as with full or partial heating.
Design and function of emptying systems
The main component of our barrel emptying systems is the RAM press, which is pneumatic or hydraulic depending on material viscosity and the resulting required pressing force. A scoop piston base pump powered by an air motor ensures even material delivery. Feed rates and pressure ratios vary based on the pump and air motor you choose. The follower plate seals the barrel, protecting the material and preventing a vacuum. The choice of design is based on the viscosity of the handled material. The barrel emptying system is controlled by the ATN IFC controller, which also monitors and visualizes the current application data.
