ATN expands its network of subsidiaries

For more than 20 years, ATN Hölzel GmbH from Germany has been one of the leading international companies in automation and application technology. ATN's customers include internationally renowned car manufacturers such as Mercedes, BMW and Porsche, as well as suppliers from the medical technology, renewable energy and construction industries.

ATN established several successful subsidiaries in the USA, Brazil, Spain and China since 2010. The aim of founding the new location was to transfer and expand know-how and knowledge from the company location and headquarter in Oppach (Germany) to the foreign subsidiaries. At the same time the subsidiaries provide local contact to the customer which results in a more effective project management and project execution.

The number of independent subsidiaries increases by a new foreign location in Ruse, Bulgaria.Ruse is not only to become a pure production location. With the expansion of the site, ATN wants to establish a broad and mutual cooperation with Bulgaria. In addition to production, this also includes cooperation in education and vocational training. Here, too, intensive and successful talks have been held with various partners in recent months.

Main focus of establishing a new location in Bulgaria is to concentrate know-how and deepen the level of specialization of the whole ATN-Group. ATN gained valuable experiences with location-based specialization in the past, which resulted in a beneficial effect on the innovative strength and performance of the entire ATN group.

However, Managing Director Torsten Hölzel also states quite clearly that the new location in Bulgaria will at no time result in a reduction in production or job cuts in Germany. On the contrary, the company headquarters in Oppach will be further expanded and strengthened! The high level of personnel and technical know-how at the Oppach headquarter forms the technological and innovative basis of the entire ATN group, whose performance will be strengthened with the international subsidiaries. Local markets will be served in a more targeted and customer-oriented manner at the same time.

Decisive criteria for the choice of the new location are the very good conditions in Ruse, Bulgaria as well as the already existing excellent local contacts. Over the past few months, Managing Director Torsten Hölzel and his son and successor Martin Hölzel gained personal impressions of the location. Martin Hölzel will be responsible for the establishment of the site and will carry it out together with motivated employees from Germany. The target date for the start of production is 2023.
