New Dosing Unit for Hot Butyl Applications - EVD 850 Hotbutyl

Visitors to last year's Battery Show in Stuttgart had the opportunity to see the latest addition to the dosing unit product family. Its size is particularly noteworthy, as thanks to its net volume of 850 cm³ and a maximum delivery rate of 77 cm³/s, the EVD 850 Hotbutyl allows a continuous seam of hot butyl to be applied to battery covers, thus guaranteeing optimum sealing!

The new dosing unit is an alternative to the EVD 155 dual dispensing systems and, despite its size, offers maximum flexibility as it can be attached to both a robot and an application tower. Specially anodized material chambers ensure a high robustness to withstand processing temperatures of up to 180 °C. Of course, the new development stands out with the precise and accurate dosing qualities of the ATN. In addition, the detailed visualization of the IFC allows comprehensive control of the amount of material dispensed, fill level, temperature, pressure, and many other application parameters.

Thanks to its heat resistance and flexibility, hot butyl is used in battery assembly as a sealant for the battery cover. Bonding the cover is not an option, as it must remain removable for maintenance purposes. Modern batteries are very large due to their high performance, which requires a high discharge rate from the dispenser.
