ATK VDF application tower
The VDF (vertical down fixed) application tower is a compact unit designed for vertical material application on workpieces such as window glass or roofs. It can produce both profiled and round beads.
An ATN PE applicator is mounted on the application tower as an external axis.
A robot with a gripper handles the workpiece. The robot moves the workpiece to the applicator, which applies the material. The application nozzles rotate to ensure optimum, flawless application. The robot can then mount the workpiece. The application material is fed from the material supply system to the dosing unit – which can be mounted on the application tower – and onwards to the applicator and nozzles.
An optional ATN nozzle cleaning unit can be fitted to the application tower to remove material residue from the nozzles immediately after each application. The nozzle cleaning unit moves to the nozzle height fully automatically. Any excess material is collected in the collecting container so that the operator can dispose of it.
