ATN’s PR applicator can be flange-mounted on the robot’s 6th axis and is used for 1C application of a profiled bead. A ball valve at the material infeed supplies the application material to the applicator and onward to the nozzles. A pneumatic valve opens and closes the ball valve.

A robot moves the applicator along the workpiece. The drive energy of the robot is transmitted at a gear ratio of 1:2. This speeds up nozzle movement and application in tight spaces. A spline shaft transmits the rotational energy to the lower gears and ultimately to the pivot hinge.

Pneumatically-controlled load balancing smoothly compensates small height differences. This ensures that the application nozzle always rests on the workpiece.
